Thank you for purchasing the GE-7 Equalizer Supreme Mod Kit. After these mods you will not believe it’s even the same Pedal. Included are all the components necessary for total tone transformation, it replaces key components in the signal path to turn your GE-7 in to a high quality low noise eq.

Open up the back and take a look inside. There is the main circuit board and a smaller board that houses the sliders, remove the silver screw in the center of the board holding the sliders( see pic) and remove all the tips from the sliders

THIS KIT IS FOR BOTH VERSIONS OF THE GE-7, IF YOU HAVE THE OLD VERSION THERE WILL BE ONE PART LEFT OVER.

After the board is exposed it’s time to start removing components and replacing them with the new ones. Make sure the battery is removed and no cables or AC-adaptors are plugged in. In the pic is a detail of the GE-7 board before all the components are removed and which components will be replaced

All of the parts except for the LED, IC, and caps in the next step are non-polarized, meaning you can put them in either direction.

NEVER heat the solder and try to pull the component out you WILL damage the PCB. Use solder wick to completely remove the solder and the component will come free easily.

The components to be changed are in the photos. Depending on which board your pedal has.

If your pedal is set up for 12V ACA power change it to run at 9V by removing and jumpering D1 and R1 with leads cut off components.

Some versions of the GE-7 have resistors mounted on the back side of the IC's on the These must be saved and replaced in the same locations.

All of the caps in the kit for this step have a minimum voltage rating of 25V, but may be as high as 50V. Your pedal will still work just fine with 9V after these mods, you just won't damage it if you use up to 18V

Change C17 to 100uf

Change C18 to 47uf

After swapping out the parts put your pedal back together and enjoy your new pedal!

Troubleshooting: Check to make sure that the soldering all looks shiny and that two pads aren't bridged by too much solder. Check to make sure no pads have lifted, if they have you can use a lead cut off a component to connect the broken connections. Check to make sure that none of the wires have come loose at the top of the PCB and fix them if so
