Installing Pedal Mods GE-7B Mod Kit

Thank you for purchasing the GE-7B Equalizer Supreme Mod Kit. After these mods you will not believe it’s even the same Pedal. Included are all the components necessary for total tone transformation, it replaces key components in the signal path to turn your GE-7B in to a high quality low noise eq.

Open up the back and take a look inside. There is the main circuit board and a smaller board that houses the sliders, remove the silver screw in the center of the board holding the sliders( see pic) and remove all the tips from the sliders.

NOTE: THIS KIT IS FOR BOTH VERSIONS OF THE GE-7B, IF YOU HAVE THE OLD VERSION THERE WILL BE ONE PART LEFT OVER.

CAUTION: Read all these instructions before beginning, if you pedal is currently under warranty it will not be after these mods. This kit and the instructions do not include any warranty of any kind and you agree to hold harmless the seller of this kit against any and all claims.

After the board is exposed it’s time to start removing components and replacing them with the new ones. Make sure the battery is removed and no cables or AC- adaptors are plugged in. On Page 3 is a detail of the GE-7B board before all the components are removed and which components will be replaced.

NEVER heat the solder and try to pull the component out you WILL damage the PCB. Use solder wick to completely remove the solder and the component will come free easily.

All of the parts except for the LED, IC, and power supply caps in the next step are non-polarized, meaning you can put them in either direction.

The components to be changed are in the photos. Depending on which board your pedal has.

If your pedal is currently set up for ACA power (older version) you can convert it to PSA power by removing and jumping D1 and R1

The IC’s must be inserted correctly in order to work. The chips and sockets have a notch or dot that should line up with the notch shown on the board.

Note: Some versions of the GE-7B have several resistors on the back side of the circuit board under the IC’s. These must be saved and replaced in the same locations.
