Start by sorting out all the parts in the kit, the parts list above will help!

Open up the back and take a look inside. There are three circuit boards. The main board in the picture to the left, the control board which is connected to the control pots, and a tiny board that only houses the LED.

We will need to get to all three boards so the control knobs and nuts holding the pots will need to be removed as well. There is no need to disconnect the input or output jacks.

Expose the top side of the circuit board and find the parts that need to be removed - and start removing them!

Remove D3 Diode, D7 Diode, D8 Diode, D9 Diode, D10 Diode, C1 EL Cap, C7 EL Cap, C6 EL Cap, C12 EL Cap, C13 EL Cap, C15 EL Cap, C14 Film Cap, C10 Film Cap, C21 Cer Cap, C23 Cer Cap, C26 Cer Cap, C20 Cer Cap, C25 Cer Cap

The C100 Film Cap to remove is located on the smaller board.

On the LED board the longer lead goes on the same side as the red wire.

Next install the new components. You can put in the capacitors either direction because they are non polarized, however the diodes need to be inserted the right direction, the arrow —> on the PCB points to the direction of the solid band on the diode.

You will need to place a jumper wire in D9 because that component is not being replaced with anything. You can use a piece of a lead from one of the other components to make the jumper.

Install the 10uf caps at C1, C6, C7, C12, C13 and C15.

Install the 1N400 diodes at D3, D7, D8, and D10.

Jump D9.

Install the 100p caps at C20, C25. Install the 33p caps at C21, C23. Install the 100n cap at C14. Install the 47n cap at C10. Install the 270p cap at C26. Install the 33n cap into C100 on the smaller board.

If this is your first mod I recommend replacing the parts one at a time. That way you only have one part to troubleshoot. You don’t need to put the pedal back to together to test it you can do so with the guts hanging out but make sure that when you are soldering that all cords and power plugs are disconnected from the pedal.

All of the caps in the kit for this step have a minimum voltage rating of 25V, but may be as high as 50V. Your pedal will still work just fine with 9V after these mods, you just won't damage it if you use up to 18V

Change C3 and C5 to 100uf

Change C2, C4, and C11 to 47uf

After swapping out the parts put your pedal back together and enjoy your new pedal!

Troubleshooting: Check to make sure that the soldering all looks shiny and that two pads aren't bridged by too much solder. Check to make sure no pads have lifted, if they have you can use a lead cut off a component to connect the broken connections. Check to make sure that none of the wires have come loose at the top of the PCB and fix them if so

Hello - would it be possible for you to clarify the differences between the components in the supreme kit and the standard upgrade kit. I couldn't find a matching guide for the supreme. thanks!
